![]() Teisco manufactured guitars for a number of companies such as Kent, Kingston, and Heit as well as under their own name, Teisco Del Rey. The finish has a subtle metallic sparkle to it that might not be visible in the photos. (I think that is what it is, but I could be wrong) The Tokyo Electric Instrument and Sound Company (Teisco) was founded in 1946 and began importing guitars to America in 1956. Plays just great and boasts a hot single coil vintage tone. This bass is super stylish and ready to rock! Get a load of the lengthy headstock on this guy! This is one of the more popular and collectible basses that Teisco ever produced, and you can't beat the price here for a fully functional specimen. The metal faceplate on the headstock of the bass is a little scratched up from contact with strings, but it seems as though thats what it was there for in the first place. Some minor cosmetic wear should be visible in the photos. General Cosmetic Condition: This bass, like most instruments of it's age, has a few minor dings and scrapes around it's edges, but nothing major or visible from more than a couple feet away. 080" on the treble side, measured at the 12th fretįret Wear: Fret wire is thin in size and shows very minimal fret wear construction, Rosewood fingerboard with unique rectangular fret markers, finish on the neck exhibits almost no wearĪction. ![]() Hardware: All original, very cool matching matte metal pick guard and headstock plate Electronics: Two single coil pickups, 1 master volume, 1 master tone, large 2-way on/off switches for both pickups ![]()
